MoveScan

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MoveScan collects, uses, and shares information when consumers use the MoveScan Marketplace or walkthrough experience and when moving companies use MoveScan business tools. It is intended for U.S. users.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use MoveScan, we may collect information you provide directly, information generated while using the service, and information needed to operate business accounts.

  • Consumer contact information, such as name, email address, and phone number when provided.
  • Move details, such as pickup and delivery information, ZIP or postal codes, move date, service type, access details, move requirements, room information, inventory details, and customer-entered notes.
  • Marketplace request information, including preliminary estimates, mover estimates, removed or accepted estimates, cancellation, expiration, and award history.
  • Business account information, such as company name, staff user information, company settings, pricing and quote settings, quote activity, subscription and billing status, and usage records.
  • Authentication and session information needed to provide passwordless email links, Google sign-in, and secure browser sessions.

Camera, Walkthrough, and Inventory Data

MoveScan lets customers record a guided room-by-room or whole-home walkthrough using a phone camera. The service may collect uploaded room video, frame data extracted from video, room labels, customer review actions, inventory items, packing observations, evidence, and related move details.

MoveScan uses this information to identify furniture, belongings, rooms, access conditions, service requirements, and other move characteristics. Customer walkthrough video is used by MoveScan to operate the service and is not shared with prospective moving companies in the Marketplace. Movers receive move details needed to review the job, not raw customer walkthrough video.

AI and Automated Processing

MoveScan uses AI and automated processing to analyze walkthrough and move information, identify inventory and move characteristics, and help generate preliminary moving estimates and reviewable estimate data. Automated results may be incomplete or incorrect and may require customer or moving-company review. Estimates are not guarantees of final price or service availability.

MoveScan Marketplace Privacy

Before you choose a mover in the MoveScan Marketplace, participating moving companies may receive job details, ZIP code or general location information, service type, inventory and move details, and the MoveScan preliminary estimate so they can review the move and submit their own estimates.

Your direct personal contact information is withheld from prospective movers before award. When you choose or accept a mover estimate, MoveScan may release appropriate contact information between you and the winning moving company so you can coordinate the move. Losing movers do not receive your direct contact information through the award process.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve MoveScan walkthrough, estimate, quote, and marketplace services.
  • Authenticate users, create sessions, send login links, and support Google sign-in.
  • Generate inventory, move details, preliminary estimates, mover estimates, quote versions, and related customer or business workflows.
  • Send transactional emails, including login links, estimate notifications, marketplace opportunity notifications, claim emails, award confirmations, and account or billing communications.
  • Operate billing, subscription, entitlement, usage, and Stripe metering workflows for moving-company customers.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, security incidents, or service errors.

Payments and Billing

MoveScan uses Stripe for moving-company subscription and billing workflows. Stripe may process payment method and billing information. MoveScan does not need to store complete payment-card numbers to provide Stripe-hosted checkout, billing portal, webhook synchronization, subscriptions, and metered usage features.

Cookies and Browser Storage

MoveScan uses necessary cookies and browser storage to keep users signed in, maintain secure consumer marketplace sessions, operate public walkthrough sessions, remember workflow state, and protect authenticated routes. Marketplace passwordless login tokens expire after approximately 5 minutes, and marketplace consumer sessions are designed to expire after approximately 12 hours.

We do not describe these necessary technologies as optional advertising tracking. If additional analytics or marketing technologies are added later, this policy should be updated accordingly.

Service Providers

MoveScan relies on service providers to operate the product. These may include hosting and infrastructure providers, database and authentication providers, email delivery providers, payment processors, AI processing providers, logging and operational tooling, and other vendors that help provide the service. These providers process information on MoveScan's behalf or as needed to deliver their services.

How We Share Information

  • With service providers that help MoveScan operate the service.
  • With participating movers as needed for Marketplace review, subject to the pre-award privacy boundary described above.
  • With the winning mover after you choose or accept an estimate, so you and the mover can coordinate next steps.
  • With business account staff according to their company membership and role-based access.
  • When required by law, legal process, safety, security, fraud prevention, or to protect rights and property.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

MoveScan does not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood. If that changes, this policy should be updated before such activity occurs.

Data Retention

MoveScan retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, support billing and usage workflows, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, improve security, and operate the business. The current service establishes specific expiration windows for certain login tokens and sessions, but MoveScan does not publish a universal deletion schedule for all walkthrough, marketplace, billing, or account records.

Security

MoveScan uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including server-side session handling, hashed marketplace login and session tokens, role-based access controls, private media storage, signed upload flows, and provider webhook verification where implemented. No online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

Your Choices

You may stop using MoveScan at any time. Business users can manage certain account, company, billing, and settings information through the dashboard where available. Consumers and business users may contact MoveScan about personal information questions or requests. Transactional messages, such as login links, estimate notifications, marketplace confirmations, security notices, and billing communications, may be necessary to provide the service.

Children

MoveScan is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable law, such as requesting access, correction, deletion, or other handling of personal information. You may contact MoveScan to make a request. MoveScan has not implemented a state-specific privacy portal in the current product.

Changes to This Policy

MoveScan may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
