MoveScan
Terms of Use
Last updated: August 28, 2026
These Terms of Use describe the rules for using MoveScan's public walkthrough, Marketplace, quote review, and business account services.
The MoveScan Service
MoveScan provides guided moving walkthroughs, AI-assisted inventory and move analysis, preliminary moving estimates, moving-company quote and review tools, and a consumer marketplace where local moving companies can review move details and submit estimates.
MoveScan is software and marketplace infrastructure. MoveScan does not itself perform moving services unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. Participating moving companies are independent businesses.
MoveScan Preliminary Estimates and Moving Company Estimates
A MoveScan Preliminary Estimate is an informational estimate generated from move details, inventory, service information, and configured pricing assumptions. It is not a guaranteed final price, binding quote, or promise that a moving company will perform the move for that amount.
A Moving Company Estimate is submitted by a moving company after it reviews available move details. Moving companies may approve the preliminary estimate or adjust pricing according to their own pricing model. Final terms, scheduling, service availability, and charges are between the customer and the selected moving company.
MoveScan Marketplace
The Marketplace helps consumers scan their move once, receive a preliminary estimate, and compare estimates from moving companies that serve the relevant area and move type. Consumers remain responsible for evaluating, choosing, and working with a moving company.
MoveScan does not guarantee mover licensing, insurance, quality, availability, timeliness, performance, workmanship, final charges, or whether a mover will accept or complete a job. Consumers should independently evaluate movers before choosing one.
Your Information and Move Details
You agree to provide reasonably accurate and complete information when using MoveScan. Inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading move details can affect inventory analysis, preliminary estimates, mover estimates, and service availability.
Consumers using camera or walkthrough features must have permission to record the property, rooms, belongings, and other content included in the walkthrough. You may not use MoveScan to record private spaces unlawfully or invasively.
Accounts, Authentication, and Authorized Users
MoveScan supports secure consumer marketplace sessions through passwordless email links and Google sign-in. Business users may access company dashboards through the existing authentication and company membership model. You are responsible for using login links, sessions, and accounts appropriately and for preventing unauthorized use of your access.
Company users may access only companies and marketplace opportunities for which they are authorized. You may not impersonate another user, claim a moving company fraudulently, or use authentication flows to access data that does not belong to you.
Business Subscriptions, Billing, and Usage
Moving-company customers may subscribe to MoveScan plans with included usage and, where applicable, metered overage usage. Pricing, included usage, and available plans are shown in the product or current pricing materials and may change with appropriate notice. Stripe is used for checkout, billing portal, subscription synchronization, invoices, and payment processing.
For normal company-origin AI walkthroughs, billable usage is based on the implemented usage and entitlement rules. For Marketplace opportunities, receiving, reviewing, or approving a marketplace opportunity does not itself consume usage. Marketplace award usage occurs when a consumer accepts that company's estimate and the company wins the marketplace job, if the company is eligible under its entitlement or marketplace allowance.
Acceptable Use
You may use MoveScan only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful, deceptive, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
- Submit fraudulent move requests, fake company claims, or misleading account information.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, companies, consumer requests, marketplace opportunities, systems, or data.
- Interfere with, disrupt, scrape in a harmful way, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass protections for the service.
- Upload malicious software or content that infringes rights or violates law.
- Misuse login links, OAuth flows, invitation links, claim tokens, or other security mechanisms.
Intellectual Property and User Content
MoveScan and its software, interfaces, branding, designs, workflows, documentation, and related materials are owned by MoveScan or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for rights expressly granted to you, no rights are transferred to you.
You retain appropriate rights in information, videos, images, move details, company settings, and other content you submit. You grant MoveScan the limited rights needed to host, process, analyze, display, transmit, and use that content to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
Third-Party Services and Independent Movers
MoveScan depends on third-party services for functions such as hosting, authentication, database infrastructure, email delivery, payment processing, AI processing, and operational tooling. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies.
Moving companies available through the Marketplace are independent third parties. MoveScan is not responsible for their acts, omissions, estimates, services, communications, contracts, insurance, licensing, or final charges.
Availability and Changes to the Service
MoveScan may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Some features may depend on external providers, network access, user device capabilities, or configured company settings.
Disclaimers
MoveScan is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, MoveScan disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation. Estimates, inventory analysis, and AI-generated results are informational and may require review.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MoveScan will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, moving-service disputes, or third-party mover conduct arising from or related to your use of the service.
Indemnification
You agree to reasonably defend and indemnify MoveScan from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, unlawful content or recordings, fraudulent claims, infringement, or violation of another person's rights. This obligation is especially important for business users and moving companies using MoveScan to serve customers.
Suspension and Termination
MoveScan may suspend or terminate access if we believe there has been a violation of these Terms, unauthorized access, abuse, fraud, security risk, nonpayment, or conduct that may harm MoveScan, users, service providers, or third parties. You may stop using the service at any time.
Changes to These Terms
MoveScan may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
MoveScan has not specified a governing-law jurisdiction in these Terms. This section should be updated once the appropriate jurisdiction and venue are confirmed by the business owner and legal counsel.
